Just a little bit of me

I was impossibly stuck for a subject to blog about today so I opted to have a little show and tell. I wanted to share some pictures with everybody that I had taken a few months back. I got asked to do the pictures because the photographer was looking for a bigger girl to shoot. I had never had professional pictures taken in my nelly puff and was so excited to try it out and let my inner model shine through :/ haha. I am size 22 and am incredibly proud of these pictures. I hope you enjoy them too! xxx

please tell me what you think xxx

Big grown up dress for crimbo

This is the little outfit I have been putting together for our Christmas night out at work! You may notice that I am trying to cleverly disguise myself as an adult. What do you think? yeh or neh? xx

Being a big girl isn't always easy, some times we need a little inspiration!

Today I decided to write about something I really hadn't intended to EVER blog about. I was laid in bed last night next to my B-E-A-UTIFUL husband and thinking (as I do often) "how did I manage to get a guy like this". I have always been a bigger girl and so my confidence has been like a rollercoaster over the years! I put on 2 pounds and I would feel awful, for years my happiness was DIRECTLY controlled by my weight. I went on like this for years until one day I decided that I didn't want a life that was solely controlled by my diet and the way I looked so I made he conscious decision to be happy for the person I was regardless of my size.   I set out to find other like minded women that were "fat and happy" and I have to tell you that what I came across was pretty amazing. All over the world there seems to be a revolution happening where plus size women have decided that they no longer want to feel ashamed of how they look. I started by looking at models like Tess Munster and seeing that instead of hiding away they were embracing their curvy bodies!! This was deffinetly the way forward! I threw out baggy jeans and T-shirts and brought in Leggings, Dresses, Crop tops even. From then on I can honestly say that I have been 10000 times happier and more confident, infact I would say that I am happier NOW then when i was at my thinnest. Now I am not saying that it is an easy transition, I have bad days like everybody else where I feel like I have my own planetary orbit BUT for the most it is plain sailing. It took me a very long time to realise that I can dress exactly how I like. The fear of wearing a short skirt was not because I thought I looked bad, it was because I was scared of how other people would react! There really is no better time that the present to decide that you are gorgeous and if other people have an issue with that well then it really is a shame that they have to judge other people to feel good about themselves.

Now we come to the subject in hand, I often wonder how I ended up with such a gorgeous man. The answer is very simple, I started to like myself and it meant that I was an open door for other people to view me that way. It is no secret in our household that my fella prefers a curvier lady to your average size ten BUT    what is a body without a good personality? I would NEVER have approached a man because I had the fear of getting shot down in flames but when I met Ben I decided to bite the bullet. I had a new view on  life and on myself and I decided that I liked this guy and for once I was going to go for it! I went for it and 1 year later I married that man and am tremendously happy.I guess what I am trying to say is that it is time for you to love yourself (not just us curvy girls but everyone)! I am not saying that my happiness is dependant on finding a husband atall but that I am happy that I have made this change because I got to marry my best friend and THAT makes me happy. Lets stop putting clothes back on the rail because they show to much flesh, stop writing off leggings and crop tops and bikin's and say YES! As cheesy as it sounds you do have to love the skin you are in, if you want anyone else to love you then start loving yourself. I can honestly say that the day I decided to be happy and embrace the way I look, my life has continually got better and better. I hope at least one person will read this and change their mind about what they see in the mirror every day xxxx

Quick and easy exaggerated lips!

This is yet another little quick step by step on how to get quick and easy exaggerated lips. In this little tutorial I will be using Rimmel London products purely because they are the products that work best for me :)

. First of all you will need a lip liner. For a full lip effect, choose a liner that is a few shades lighter than the lipstick you are using. I like plump pin-up style lips so I use a Rimmel liner in "indian pink". Secondly you will need your favourite lipstick, I use Rimmel moisture in "diva red". So far it is one of my favourite products to date, if you like lovely soft kissable lips then it is worth a try!

Some people do like to apply a little lip balm before doing lip make-up, I don't do this that often but when I do I like to use something mild that doesn't smudge my lips stick. Dr Organic royal jelly serum is my favourite when I do take the incline to balm up :)

Start from the inside of your top lip and work outwards. Apply the liner OUTSIDE of your natural lip line.

Work downwards to the bottom of your top lip always keeping just slightly outside your lip line. When you are done just repeat the process again on the opposite side.

When you have finished your top lip you can start on the bottom begin at the corner of your mouth and ending at the opposite corner, always keeping just slightly outside your natural lip line. When you have finished your basic line outline you can now begin to bring the liner down into your lips. Again start at the inside of your top lip and just colour down into about the middle of your top lip. Use the same technique for the bottom and you will end up with the above picture (hopefully tidier than mine n__n)

When you finish your liner you can now start to colour in your lips. You can use a lip brush but as the outline is already there it will be fine to apply the lipstick directly to your lips. Work the colour out towards the lip liner. Don't be afraid to take it right up to the outline of your liner!

Here is the finished product! It is simple and easy and only takes a few minutes.
Hope you enjoyed this little step by step!

welcome welcome

Hallllllllllllllllllllo everybody! This is my first ever blog (how exciting :o) and as this is my first ever post I thought I may as well say a little bit about what I will be blogging about. Sooo I finally decided to make a blog (with much help from my friend as I am hopeless) dedicated to all things crafty, alternative, plus size and feline. I love making everything from hair flowers to clothes and would love to show other people how to get crafty and make little unique pieces of this and that! hmmm the second thing I am hoping to blog about is all things alternative from tattoos and decor to fashion and beauty. Finally my last mission of the day is to write a little bit about my plus size adventures as I am sure every plus size girl will admit that being plus size and alternative is not always easy as finding clothes can be like a treck through middle earth BUT over the years I have managed  to find some great clothing shops and stockists for the curvy lovely. SO... if you are nice enough to tune in then I'll try my best to keep everything upbeat, fun and useful if I can haha . Expect alot of nonsense with my cat the great Ricky-Bobby, ahhh life would be nothing without a cat or 8.
